Today’s diesel fuel injection market is dominated by “Common Rail” technology, which is beyond its ability to meet the requirements of today’s internal combustion engines, falling short of acceptable emissions outputs.

The Solution


Reduce Emissions and Elevate Performance

The RK Injector drastically reduces both particulate matter and NOx emissions, which are the main contributors to smog and acid rain. By simply implementing Ichor’s RK Injector, engine owners can save money, time, AND our environment.

Our Blue Flame Technology yields 5 times the injection pressure, 30 times more spray holes, 1/64th inch droplet size, no carbon particles, and complete combustion. In doing so, the RK Injector drastically reduces both particulate matter and NOx emissions, which are the main contributors to smog and acid rain.

We have built & tested six generations of prototypes which successfully demonstrated our technology on a wide range of engines, and we have signed development agreements with Mazda (2016), Weichai (2019), and Kohler (2021).  We have numerous patents in multiple countries around the globe and received the Geneva Gold Medal award in 2005.

Biden's new executive order & what it means for Ichor.

Just last week, a well-anticipated executive order from the Biden administration was put into action, pushing the Environmental Protection Agency to adopt California’s emissions standards on a nationwide level. 

Naturally, there are many supporters and critics of the executive order. In response to the turn of events, Garret Graves (R.-La.) issued the following statement:

“At a time when Americans are hurting due to inflation and rising gas prices, these burdensome and unrealistic restrictions will drive up costs and export emissions.”

Not only will restrictions be difficult to meet, but the resources needed to reinvent the worldwide oil-dependent infrastructure will take many decades at best.

While electric vehicles are available for lighter vehicles to consumers with deep pockets, a solution must be found in complying with strict emissions standards for low-cost and heavy-duty vehicles. 

The only plausible solution in sight is to find a way to reduce emissions drastically in gas & diesel vehicles over the next century.

NEW PROTOTYPE UPDATE

This 2014 Cummins ISX engine is very common in semi-trucks.

There are millions of these engines driving on the road every single day, and they aren't going away anytime soon. 

If you don't know already, a simple ICHOR injector retrofit will drastically reduce this engine's emissions output, which is responsible for smog and acid rain.

We are excited to announce that ICHOR will soon be working on a light/medium duty prototype for modern diesel engines!

Our injector has already been rigorously tested on a number of engine types. However, this will be the first prototype developed for the modern light-duty truck market. We will soon reveal which make and model our team will retrofit to reduce emissions. Our team is evaluating the following engines and announcing our decision in the coming weeks:

-GM Duramax 6.6 Liter 

-Ford Powerstroke 6.7 Liter 

-RAM Cummins 6.7 Liter

ICHOR injectors can achieve up to a 90% reduction in emissions responsible for smog and acid rain. Additionally, we will monitor results of improved engine efficiency and decreased fuel consumption.

What does your garden hose and reducing emissions have in common?

The spray settings! You wouldn't want a water jet obliterating your flower bed, and you wouldn't want fuel spraying into your engine like that either.

Why?

Fuel simply burns cleaner and more efficiently when the nozzle sprays a super fine mist, allowing for a cleaner and more efficient combustion. We saw the limitations of the decades-old fuel injection technology and came up with a better, simpler solution.

What is the result?

Rigorous testing shows up to a 90% reduction in emissions responsible for smog and acid rain (PM, NOx) emissions. Additionally, CO2 is reduced proportionally to the engine efficiency gained, making emissions reduction actually cost-effective. Fuel consumption decreases as much as 30% with our injectors, saving engine operators every time they fill up at the pump. 

Why hasn't this been done already?

There simply isn't enough pressure with the existing technology. That's why we solved the high-pressure problem as well. Our injector is self-pressurized, meaning pressure from the cylinder of the engine is used to propel a stronger, finer mist into the engine for ideal combustion. Injector pressure reaches upwards of 5000 bar, compared to the average injector of 2000 bar pressure.

What's our secret?

Self-pressurization is one of our secrets.

Emissions occur when partially burnt fuel leaves the engine, along with other harmful pollutants. Inefficient combustion means more emissions and lower efficiency.

Unlike other injectors available on the market, the Ichor injector is a self-pressurized injector interacting with compression forces in the combustion chamber to initiate its injection.  

Our innovative injector design multiplies the initial combustion chamber pressure within the injector, up to 5000 BAR (Over 70,000 PSI). This interaction forces fuel into the combustion chamber at significantly higher pressure through upwards of 200 tiny holes, through our unique dispersal nozzle.

In our diesel engine testing, we saw 15%-30% less fuel consumption, as well as a 90% decrease in emissions responsible for smog and acid rain.
