Omni-Channel Ecosystem: Three Paths to Success

Retail: Cold brew shot sales reached $100k with 140+ active doors. We project to have 5,000 points of distribution by 2024.


Direct to Consumers: We are building our base of repeat customers. In 2020 we hit $15k in total online sales, and project to reach $50k in total online sales in 2021. We will add exclusive content and loyalty programs to build traction.


Brick and Mortar stores: Humblemaker Cafes are community hubs offering music, art, and events to bring the local community together. Our flagship store at Seal Beach opened in 2019 and is making a profit of over $25k in sales per month. In 2020, the store reached an annual revenue of $225k in sales, and is projected to reach $1.3mm sales by 2022. Our San Pedro storefront was selected to be the exclusive coffee vendor for West Harbor development projected to open in Spring 2023.

Overall, the global coffee shops market is projected to be worth $237.6 billion by 2025. The market increased 3.3% between 2019 and 2020 – from $45.4 billion to $47.5 billion. Not only that, the global functional beverage market was noted as being worth $102 billion in 2020 and is projected to continuously grow to $135 billion by 2025.


In 2017, the cold brew coffee market was worth around $166 million and is projected to reach $994.16 million in 2025. Also on the rise is the global ready to drink coffee market, which is expected to hit $42.36 billion in earnings by 2027.


 


The coffee market has experienced several acquisitions with multiples as high as 12x Revenue from the likes of Blue Bottle, Super Coffee, La Colombe, Stumpton and Forto at an average valuation of $377M. We believe there has never been a better time to marry the two national interests.

The 10% StartEngine Owners’ Bonus

Humblemaker LLC will offer 10% additional bonus Membership Units for all investments that are committed by investors that are eligible for the StartEngine Crowdfunding Inc. Owner's bonus.

This means eligible StartEngine shareholders will receive a 10% bonus for any Membership Units they purchase in this offering. Humblemaker Investment on StartEngine - K-1 Filing Information (Required)

Hello, thank you so much for your recent investment in our brand! 

As a CA based LLC, we are required by law to send you a K-1 distribution for tax filing purposes. In order to comply with IRS guidelines we need your information that includes your name, mailing address either your social security number or EIN depending on whether you invested as yourself or through an entity. 

To make this process as efficient as possible for our CPA please fill out this FORM as soon as possible so we can get the filing process started. We need this information from all investors in order to file our taxes and in turn send out K-1's so you can file yours by the approaching deadline. In an abundance of caution I would suggest filing for an extension as we cannot guarantee the K-1's will be ready by the April 15th deadline but will absolute do our best to do so.

$40k Monthly Milestone

I'm very happy to share that we've achieved the $40k monthly milestone for the first time with the soft opening of the Ventura location last month. And, once the city issues the certificate of occupancy for the development allowing us to be fully open providing customers with seating inside our shipping container cafe and incredible outdoor courtyard, I'm extremely confident that we'll hit $50k shortly thereafter. Humblemaker Del Rey Opening this Summer

Our third location is on track to open this Summer in the Del Rey neighborhood of Los Angeles at the Del Rey Campus, a unique project located between Playa Vista and Venice along the Silicon Beach tech corridor where amenities and aesthetics create a life enhancing experience for creative workers.  The project blurs the lines between work and home, with the use of open spaces that take advantage of a sunny coastal climate.

While many offices provide basic amenities, Del Rey will feature a Humblemaker café housed in a classic Container Café trailer with an evolving menu of artisanal and organic items of superior quality. An on-site bike-sharing program will allow workers to cruise to the beach or explore the winding paths and trails of Ballona Wetlands. The plan encourages workers to make frequent use of outdoor spaces for work and casual meetings, as well as quiet reflection or a lively game of table tennis.

Del Rey Campus is a creative office campus with three, two-story buildings offering 162,031 square feet of workspace with flexible, open floor plans that will be the new home of Electronic Arts and Omaze

Texas road trip to support the launch of our wellness cold brew shots with Central Market officially in the books! A BIG THANK YOU to Lora Gonzalez Eckerle and Kevin Lancaster for making this happen.

As an emerging brand in the #cpg space it's so important to get in-store product trial and interact with new customers in person. Although it was a long days and a hectic schedule visiting all the locations in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston it's always so rewarding for me to see a complete stranger have a genuine positive reaction when trying our products for the first time, I absolutely love seeing that "light bulb" moment when we explain the benefits and use of our shots.

I'm so honored and humbled to have our products on the shelf with such an incredible retailer, in my career I've have visited hundreds of stores across the globe and I have to say that Central Market is one of the best I've ever been to.

Ventura Pre-Opening Tour

Our health inspection is scheduled for this week but is dependent on a couple of open tasks that are not in our control:

  • Shared bathrooms on the property are operational, the developer has assured us they will be ready.
  • Our mop sink is installed, the developer has also assured us this will be done as well.

As long as this happens we should pass our inspection and will be cleared to be open for business. If so, we plan to have our soft opening this weekend. In the meantime I wanted to share with you a sneak peek video tour before we open.

The Griffin Club was opened in 1926 as a tennis club for actors and entertainers who were snubbed by the elite clubs of the era. Gear Patrol, a leading digital magazine dedicated to helping over 5 million monthly subscribers discover new and exciting products, featured Humblemaker Coffee Co. in its December article All the Best Coffee Gear That Came Out in 2021 highlighting our April ’21 collaboration with TACA, The Autism Community in Action. Sold throughout Autism Awareness Month, Humblemaker and TACA donated 100% of the proceeds from sales of the special whole bean blend to the nonprofit that provides assistance to families raising children with autism.

Supporting the autism community is a mission near and dear to the Humblemaker brand and co-founder Bryan Marseilles who has two sons on the spectrum. Inspired by positive effects Marseilles witnessed in his own children when getting them out surfing, camping and in nature, he and co-founder Chris Smith decided to co-create Ten For Austism (tenforautism.org), a registered 501(c)(3) designed to raise and distribute funds to get children dealing with autism into outdoor activities like surfing, music and the great outdoors. 

We look forward to more collaborations in 2022 and creating even more powerful impact in years to come as our business scales.

VENTURA Progress

We're pouring & pulling shots with our shiny new the 3-head Linea PB La Marzocco, she's a beauty and a beast. There's still a lot to check off the list before we open with our custom made pastry case, menu board and interior buildout needing to be completed but installation is scheduled this week. I'm super excited and can't wait to send pics, thank you to all our current investors and supporters!

Post Thanksgiving - Gelson's, Outdoor Courtyard & Unpacking

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and were able to spend time with friends, family and loved ones!!  It was a short week but we still had very productive days leading up to the holiday weekend.

We're hitting the road visiting the Gelson's stores making sure our wellness cold brew shots were properly merchandised on shelf and in stock for the busy holiday season that's officially kicked off. We use an incredible tool (Repsly) that allows us to view & keep track of our team with detailed notes and photos of each store activity. I think it's pretty cool and with additional resources this will only continue to grow : )


I'm also super excited about the progress that we made in Ventura last week.  The outdoor courtyard is really starting to take shape and should be done this week.

We're also fine tuning the espresso machine along with unpacking the grinders, refrigerators, drip coffee maker, ice machine and shelving over the next few days. Updated pics of the inside of the cafe container are coming soon!

Thanks to our early investors and followers for the great questions and kind words! I’m very proud of our team for the hard work , dedication and creativity employed over the past 18+ months to not only survive the pandemic but to also find opportunities to grow and evolve in such uncertain and challenging times.

“Wellness shots”: We are very excited about the growth potential of our one of a kind, wellness cold brew shots as there is massive opportunity in the rapidly expanding functional, ready-to-drink beverage category. We certainly have plans to expand into all the points of distribution mentioned in the question, and we are positioned to do this thanks to our successful acquisition of national distribution partnerships with both UNFI & KeHE – two of the more powerful health and specialty food distributors in the US.  We have invested heavily in the wellness shot category using initial F&F investment, we plan to further focus on this segment in the future and may explore additional funding opportunities to provide the retail channel with ample capital to support the retail marketing, sales management, promotional costs, demos and merchandising teams required to be successful in a larger national rollout. 

 “B&M” Cost: This is a fair assumption and typically correct, but I’m pleased to report that our leases are very favorable with non-traditional terms. Ironically, COVID has presented us with amazing, low cap-ex opportunities to open 4-wall locations at costs well-below what you would traditionally budget to build out a coffee shop in SoCal. We leverage cloud based technology and great systems management to very closely monitor our weekly GPM, labor cost % and revenues that have allowed us to maintain profitable 4-wall economics with EBITDA ranging between 8-12%. Our shops are designed to provide an experience for our consumers to touch, feel and connect with our brand. The cafes also serve to build awareness and add authenticity for our retail and online channels acting as a flywheel to improve shelf velocity for wellness shots at local grocery stores and allowing us to collect thousands of opt-in email addresses to feed DTC marketing funnels. 

Adding shots to the perks: That is a great call out and will look into the possibility of adding that to one of the tiers : )

Profitability: With these growth investments in place, we are currently sacrificing profitability in the near term but of course we are making these investments with the intent to be profitable in the future.

Cadence for Café Openings: Our target dates to open each cafe location are:

●    Ventura - Before the end of 2021

●    Del Rey - Spring/Summer of 2022

●    Lake Arrowhead - Spring/Summer of 2022

●    San Pedro - Spring/Summer of 2023 (original target date of 2022 has been delayed)

Q3 YTD revenue is ~$255,000 with the following breakdown:

●    -5.5% (DTC)

●    -12% (Retail)

●    -82.5% (Brick & mortar)
