StartEngine Secondary

Buy and Sell Shares in Startups

Trade startup investments online.

StartEngine Secondary

Launched on October 30th!

One of the first markets in the US where non-accredited investors can publicly trade investments in startups that have raised capital via Regulation Crowdfunding and Regulation A+. StartEngine Secondary is an alternative trading system regulated by the SEC and operated by StartEngine Primary, LLC, a broker dealer registered with the SEC and FINRA.

The first company to launch on StartEngine Secondary will be StartEngine itself. We are giving our 20,000 StartEngine shareholders the opportunity to trade on Secondary. We are pioneers in this industry, and we are excited to bring the chance for liquidity to our community and hopefully to many more investors in the future.

The Future Of Investing Is Here

Discover

Look through the startups that have subscribed to StartEngine Secondary and are currently trading (note: this will just be StartEngine at launch).

Buy

Review offers by share price and quantity. Place a buy order at your desired price and number of shares, and if a match is made, your order is executed.

Trade

Buy more shares offered on Secondary or sell your previous investments if they are eligible to trade.

Traditionally, startup investors had to wait 5-10 years in order to see a return on their investment. They often had to wait for a liquidity event, such as the startup being acquired by another business or the company going public via an IPO. 5-10 years is a long time to wait.

We hope to change that with StartEngine Secondary. With our platform, users can not only invest in companies on StartEngine, but also trade with other investors if they are available. Investors should be aware that the only bids for their shares may be less than what they originally paid.

When the development of StartEngine Secondary is completed, a company which intends to apply to list its securities on the marketplace will be subject to certain requirements which it may or may not be able to satisfy in a timely manner. Even if a company is qualified to list its securities on the market, there is no guarantee that a demand for these securities will exist. Even if a company does meet the requirements for listing its securities, we do not know the extent to which investor interest will lead to the development and maintenance of a liquid trading market. You should assume that you may not be able to liquidate your investment for some time or be able to pledge these shares as collateral.
