Digital technology is now everywhere. Devices and machines generate vast amounts of data. It comes from many different sources with thousands of variations. Most of it is stored in closed systems and effectively the data is kept in silos. Terbine is the global IoT exchange built for data from any type of machine, ranging from land systems to satellites. Terbine takes raw data from machines, gives it context and makes it searchable by users, which in turn can make data financially valuable.

Globally scalable business model that bridges several, multi-billion-dollar industries spearheaded by a stalwart team of proven entrepreneurs and experts
The Data Exchange for The Physical World
Think of Terbine as a commodities exchange for data from the Internet of Things. It is now a functioning system that is intended to evolve into the world’s index and curator for machine-generated data. Well beyond simple search, Terbine handles the issues and elements needed to remove friction from what can be called the Internet of Silos, and allow it to rapidly evolve into a new industry formed atop machine-generated data, at scale.
Terbine draws upon successful attributes of global-scale logistics, trading and communications systems such as air traffic control, commodities exchanges and telephony, combining them with AI/machine learning, blockchain and other core technologies to create a powerful exchange environment for IoT data. Terbine’s plan is to deploy across intelligent edge fabrics aligned with 5G networks around the world.
Data “silos” are holding back data sharing
Thus far, it’s been close to impossible for companies or educational institutions to find and access machine-generated data from other organizations. This is owing to chronic issues involving business policies, legal and regulatory matters, technology incompatibilities and more. As companies and government agencies install their servers into edge colocation units across 5G networks, they will effectively operate as “silos” not having any relationship to or with each other. If a given server needs to share to or obtain data from another organization’s servers, there is no established mechanism – therefore a drawn-out process of formulating business, legal and technological relationships will be required.
The key issue that Terbine solves is the removal of friction from all of the core areas that must be addressed for businesses to viably exchange data – technical, legal, regulatory, financial and security. By solving these, as has been done in other sectors such as media and finance, a thriving exchange environment can exist. Terbine has been working behind the scenes to bring a total solution to market.
Making IoT data discoverable and financially viable
Terbine is one of the first commercially viable systems of data generated by vehicles, electrical grids and infrastructure i.e. the Internet of Things. It eliminates the numerous blockages that have impeded the development of a thriving data economy based on machine-generated data. We do so by providing a normalized framework and technical avenue for data exchanging.
Our sophisticated Policy Engine gives data providers total control over which organizations can access their data feeds – including the ability to set up 'ad-hoc data trading alliances' based on events (e.g., a natural disaster). This allows for data providers, both commercial and governmental, to not only manage where their data can go, it introduces the opportunity for them to monetize the data that they're already paying to generate.
Our business model has a three-pronged approach to generate revenue. The first segment which we are currently pursuing is Platform-as-a-Service Contracts, which offer Terbine’s core platform and data source contextualization tools to large commercial and government customers as a white-labelled cloud offering. We collect an up-front fee and then once the customer’s version is in operation, we collect recurring charges for Terbine to operate and maintain the system and provide training for the customer and its trading partners.
The second revenue stream will come from member subscription fees. Organizations will initially be given membership in the Terbine Exchange at no upfront charge, to seed the market. We will then gradually introduce fees for participants, whether they are selling or buying data, much like commodities exchanges. Our third revenue stream will come from transaction fees. Similar to SWIFT and other high-volume transactional platforms, the Terbine Exchange will provide comprehensive data handling and curation services with a fee. We project billions of exchanges per day where data providers can then receive a revenue-share as can other vital ecosystem participants such as 5G and cloud providers.
The world is taking notice
It’s no surprise that a platform as innovative as Terbine is finding immediate success. Though we are in our nascent stages, we have already raised $3.1 million in funding. Our Angel investors and Advisors are top entrepreneurs and executives from industries that align with our mission. Terbine has also been featured at important industry conferences and in prominent publications such as Forbes, Network World, and Disruptor Daily.
We have also captured & contextualized tens of thousands of data feeds from public infrastructure in all 50 states and over 100 countries, encompassing water, power, transportation, air quality, aviation, marine, plus satellites and many other sources. Terbine also created a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) packaging with management console/tools to kick off revenue as a white label offering of the Terbine system for large organizations.
In 2021 we are connecting with the key players in the EV, AV, smart cities and smart grid sectors, to bring them onto the platform. Our goals going forward are to set up partnerships with nameplate companies and government agencies, giving us the marquee value that will drive successive financing rounds.
We will create liquidity for IoT data
We will bring the ability for data providers to control which other users and applications can discover and access their data, as well as manage key issues including monetization. In essence, Terbine will be the trusted tollkeeper for all kinds of machine-generated data moving between machines, systems, organizations and industries. Without Terbine, there would need to be literally thousands of individual data sharing agreements between organizations, which rapidly becomes unmanageable and inefficient.
Terbine will enable a near limitless amount of applications as it continues to scale in size from self-driving cars, to augmented reality, to environmental monitoring. For example, as self-driving evolves, there will be an increasing need to bring in data coming from sensors and machines external to the vehicles, similar to how air traffic control brings a wide-area context to navigation and overall safety. Terbine will route trust-verified data to the localized systems that feed the vehicles over 5G connectivity, including from other manufacturers, public infrastructure, and more.
Similarly, sensors that city/state/federal agencies have installed are generating data that has never been brought into a single, curated system. Terbine is one of the first platforms to bring in regional environmental data and combine it with other infrastructure data to produce new insights. At scale, Terbine can become the world’s information source and facilitator for carbon credits, helping with climate change and the move towards renewable energy, electric vehicles, and more.
We are entering the third wave of computing technology
The Third Wave is all about smart connected devices and machines, and they are impacting nearly every aspect of business and our daily lives. Data is now the most valuable asset in the world, and it's worth magnifies as systems and organizations become increasingly automated. Our mission at Terbine is to provide the leading exchange for both public and corporate IoT data, making it actionable and financially valuable. We have the platform, resources, and vision to revolutionize the world while creating an entirely new market that could be worth billions. And we support important initiatives that do public good including smart sustainable cities and climate monitoring. Become a shareholder in Terbine today and invest in the third wave of computing and communications.
Terbine supports UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities, which is intended to make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable, and is essential to the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development committed by 193 countries.

Economic Impact The first INZONE being deployed in Las Vegas, Nevada will be served initially from two sites, spanning both the city of Las Vegas as well as areas in surrounding Clark County, including the Las Vegas strip. As detailed in Tolaga Research's Total Economic Impact of INZONE to Las Vegasand Surrounding Clark County, the INZONE program is expected to contribute $115.8 Billion in total economic impact over the next 10 years.
"Vapor IO's INZONE program will bring infrastructure and solutions to the city of Las Vegas and surrounding Clark County that will diversify the tax base and increase the region's competitiveness on the world stage," said Phil Marshall, Chief Researcher, Tolaga Research. "By supporting the deployment of INZONE and its partner ecosystem, Las Vegasbusinesses will have a fast path to Industry 4.0 automation and competitiveness. Industries from tourism to healthcare to manufacturing will now have the ability to use cloud economics and shared infrastructure to reduce the cost and complexity of deploying next-generation applications."
Bridging the Digital Divide A key aspect of the INZONE program includes building partnerships with city and county agencies as well as local NGOs to develop public-private partnerships to implement programs to help bridge the digital divide in Las Vegas. The city of Las Vegas already has an active program to deliver 5G private networking capabilities to the underserved and the INZONE program can provide a cost-effective means for expanding this program and helping the city and county attract federal infrastructure spending.
The First Commercial Implementation of an Open Grid Architecture The Las Vegas INZONE is based upon principles advanced by the Open Grid Alliance (OGA). The OGA was launched in May 2021 to accelerate the creation of Open Grid infrastructure by providing a neutral platform in which member companies can co-create commercially viable technology integrations that extend today's Internet to enable next-generation applications that include cloud robotics, autonomous drones, real-time video inferencing, and augmented and virtual reality applications.
