StartEngine has developed a Business Continuity Plan that is intended to address significant business disruptions and to support the firm's ability to continue or promptly resume business operations. StartEngine's plan addresses, among other things, data backup and recovery, mission critical systems, financial and operational assessments, alternate communications with customers, employees, and regulators, critical business constituents, regulatory reporting, and customer access to funds and securities.
StartEngine's response to a significant business disruption will depend on the nature and scope of the event. In the event of a disruption affecting StartEngine, a service provider, a business district, a city, or a broader geographic region, StartEngine will seek to safeguard personnel, assess operational and financial impacts, recover and resume operations, preserve books and records, and communicate with customers, employees, regulators, and service providers through available communication methods. Key components of this approach include remote access workplace strategies and geo-dispersed operations.
StartEngine's technology systems are generally accessible through internet-connected devices, subject to applicable access controls, and certain systems and records are maintained through cloud-based or third-party service providers. If a disruption affects customer access, transaction processing, or funds or securities movement, StartEngine will use available books and records and coordinate with applicable banks, escrow providers, transfer agents, clearing firms, custodians, service providers, or other relevant parties, as applicable, to support customer access to funds and securities.
StartEngine's Business Continuity Plan is subject to regular review and updates in the event of any material change to the firm's operation, structure or business.
