Updates!

If you're an investor, we have been sending out regular updates over the past several months and so if you have not received any it means we have the wrong email on file. A couple of emails have bounced back to us as undeliverable to 3 addresses, so please email me at andrew@newdawnfilm.com if you're one of them and we'll get the correct one on file. Thanks!

02.22.21

WE DID IT!

That was a wild ride and not only were we able to raise an amazing $354,783.80 on this campaign but we have 826 investors behind us which is HUGE! Thank you to each and every one of you for all the support, you are all an important part in the making of this film. And while the campaign is over, this is only the beginning in making An Angry Boy the movie, come to life!

I want to emphasize that every single investor will be receiving email updates as we continue to move forward and so you’ll always be in the loop with exactly what’s happening along the way. A couple of important things to note are mentioned below.

  1. We will receive every investor’s email address (most of which we have already) and will be going through the entire investment list to see who invested what amounts. From there we will create a few different emails lists based on the specific perks earned in order to communicate the proper information with you. For example, any investor who has the opportunity to be an extra will be contacted so we can coordinate that together.

  2. We had a big push of investors getting on board in the final weeks and we need to request our final disbursement from Start Engine. That then has to go through processing before we are able to receive everyone’s emails. This process can take a couple of weeks and so please be patient as we wait for all that to happen before we send out our first update.

  3. Filming will be taking place in the New York City area, as well as upstate NY and in Western Massachusetts. We’re currently aiming for the early summer and it will be happening over the course of roughly 4 weeks.

So that’s it for now, looking forward to talking with and meeting some of you in person. Talk to you all very soon!

Thanks,

Andrew

Don’t miss the chance to be a movie extra! Just 2 DAYS left to invest!

Interested in being a movie extra? We’d love to get you on camera!

As one of our perks, we’re offering our investors of $1,500 and more a chance to join us on set as an extra for a day. Hurry! This opportunity will end soon. Our Start Engine campaign closes this Thursday at midnight! We hope you can join us.

02.11.21

Just One Week Left!

We’re almost at the end of our raise here on Start Engine and have an amazing amount of investors supporting us as we sprint to the finish line which is an awesome feeling! If you’re just following the campaign right now, there’s still time to get involved or you can add to your existing investment in order to tier up, so don’t miss out!

We’re super motivated to get the cameras rolling and I wanted to take this opportunity to give a HUGE shout out to my good friend and Assistant Director on An Angry Boy, Brad Rego.

I’ve talked about Brad in past posts but in case you’re new here, he really helped pave the way in showing us what a successful campaign looked like when he created his for the film Cryptid, which we shot back in October. Brad is super talented and great at working with people whether that be cast or crew and so having him as a resource has been invaluable. The fact that he’ll be working on An Angry Boy is great for everyone involved, both investors and the production team.

Let’s finish strong and thanks for all the support!

02.08.21

10 Days Left - Level Up!

There's just 10 days left in our Start Engine campaign and we've had more than 600 investors who have joined us on this incredible journey! I’ve had a few of them reach out who were interested in investing again and wanted to know if multiple investments will count all together towards leveling up within the perks and the answer is, YES!

We have a record of everyone who has invested along with the amount and so we’ll be able to see multiple investments from one source and will add them together to go towards our various perks. So if you want to be an extra in the film, receive a prop or get any of the awesome additional perks there is still time to get in on those. Thanks and we’ll talk soon!

DIVERSE INVESTMENTS

Invest in over 200 start-ups and collectibles!

With Regulation A+, a non-accredited investor can only invest a maximum of 10% of their annual income or 10% of their net worth per year, whichever is greater. There are no restrictions for accredited investors.

With Regulation Crowdfunding, non-accredited investors with an annual income or net worth less than $124,000, are limited to invest a maximum of 5% of the greater of those two amounts. For those with an annual income and net worth greater than $124,000, he/she is limited to investing 10% of the greater of the two amounts.

At the close of an offering, all investors whose funds have “cleared” by this time will be included in the disbursement. At this time, each investor will receive an email from StartEngine with their Countersigned Subscription Agreement, which will serve as their proof of purchase moving forward.

Please keep in mind that a company can conduct a series of “closes” or withdrawals of funds throughout the duration of the campaign. If you are included in that withdrawal period, you will be emailed your countersigned subscription agreement and proof of purchase immediately following that withdrawal.

StartEngine assists companies in raising capital, and once the offering is closed, we are no longer involved with whether the company chooses to list shares on a secondary market, or what occurs thereafter. Therefore, StartEngine has no control or insight into your investment after the close of the live offering. In addition, we are not permitted to provide financial advice. You may want to contact a financial professional to discuss possible investment outcomes.

For Regulation Crowdfunding, investors are able to cancel their investment at any point throughout the campaign up until 48 hours before the closing of the offering. Note: If the company does a rolling close, they will post an update to their current investors, giving them the opportunity to cancel during this timeframe. If you do not cancel within this 5-day timeframe, your funds will be invested in the company, and you will no longer be able to cancel the investment. If your funds show as ‘Invested’ on your account dashboard, your investment can no longer be canceled.

For Regulation A+, StartEngine allows for a four-hour cancelation period. Once the four-hour window has passed, it is up to each company to set their own cancelation policy. You may find the company’s cancelation policy in the company’s offering circular.

Once your investment is canceled, there is a 10-day clearing period (from the date your investment was submitted). After your funds have cleared the bank, you will receive your refund within 10 business days.

Refunds that are made through ACH payments can take up to 10 business days to clear. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the bank, but we will do everything we can to get you your refund as soon as possible. However, every investment needs to go through the clearing process in order to get sent back to the account associated with the investment.

Both Title III (Regulation Crowdfunding) and Title IV (Reg A+) help entrepreneurs crowdfund capital investments from unaccredited and accredited investors. The differences between these regulations are related to the investor limitations, the differing amounts of money companies are permitted to raise, and differing disclosure and filing requirements. To learn more about Regulation Crowdfunding, click here, and for Regulation A+, click here.
