XiQ's "Stinger" began as a result of an “aha!” moment experienced by Co-Founder/CTO, Florian Meier. While living in a large golf cart community, Florian recognized an inherent security risk faced by many cart owners… All golf carts use the same ignition key!  


This insight led Florian to build an initial prototype, which he immediately began to sell with a local golf cart dealer. Co-Founder / CEO Karlos Walkes began to investigate other dealers’ potential interest in what soon became known as the “Stinger.”  


Karlos recognized a clear market need and opportunity, after conducting dealer trials and customer discovery. Through vigorous R&D, the “Stinger” has quickly evolved into a product offering significant value and growth for the golf, construction, utility, and recreational vehicle market.

During our first year in the market, the goal was to learn as we sold. This resulted in acquiring sales through 38 dealers across the U.S. More importantly, we took time to learn from user experience to test the effectiveness of our evolving software core. Consequently, our performance success rate remained very high (96-97%). 


Our team was truly able to understand what really served market needs, user experience and growth opportunity. This knowledge helped us hone our product to be prepared for successful scaling. We identified the next sales channels that will allow us to sell far more rapidly. Corporate, manufacturing, distributor, governmental and e-retail channels are interested in the Stinger. We'll now need the resources to engage them.

IoT: The Next Chapter

Since the first part of our campaign is nearing its end. Let's look ahead to where your investments will lead us. Naturally, we'll engage more order fulfillment and revenue generation. We'll also accelerate growth of our IoT platform known as the "QixSys." (KICK-SiS). This is how we will track vehicles while providing asset and user analytics to customers. 

This is how XiQ eventually evolves toward SaaS and data management. Essentially, increasing the value of your investment through scalable software and data services.

What you're looking at is a pilot program being tested at a customer site. The Stingers communicate with remote relays on the carts (identified by the green numbers.) Those relays give the customer valuable remote/real time data on those vehicles. 

We'll get into the details during the next campaign phase. We hope for your continued support as we grow this exciting and groundbreaking IoT opportunity!

...and so do we! How? CUSTOMIZATION. 

Hi, us again. Told you we'd be back and the hits will keep comin'

In our last update we showed you how we customized the Stinger to introduce easier installation and co-branding value. Here's another customization opportunity that reflects how different we are. 

The question that prompted this update was, "You say the Stinger improves vehicle functionality and user experience. How does it do that?" 

Answer: Since the Stinger is a smart device, it's has a software-driven core. We are able to adjust the Stinger to adapt and enhance the functionality of many vehicles. As seen in the following video, you'll see one of our customers having fun with her Stinger. If you pay attention to this point in the video and this part, you'll see how she's going from forward to reverse very quickly. This is what we call our "FloMotion" technology. You see, we're able to allow the driver to shift from forward to reverse on the fly with the Stinger. No need to shift gears! Plus, some carts have electric brakes that lock during power loss. This introduces the threat of a driver being thrown off. Not with the Stinger. In case of power loss, the Stinger brings the cart to a slow coasting gradual stop.

Let's review: "Stinger gradual stop" VS. "neck-snapping halt (with possible ejection) Well, there's improved functionality due to the safety enhancement. Quicker and smoother gear shift while moving means easier course changes and parallel parking. Hence, better user experience.

A few updates ago, we discussed our goal to expand from land to sea. Mission accomplished. The Stinger has engaged it's first boat. An Avalon Catalina 2485 QL. 

Boat theft is a real issue for many communities. To truly help you understand what motivated us to move on this market, we felt that a personal story would have the greatest impact. So far, we've shown you how we're moving across different vehicle and machine verticals. The Stinger is the first step in gaining access to machine data in order to give our users more asset control. The next step of moving and managing those key analytics involves our system known as the "QixSys." (Pronounced "KICK-Sis")

In our offering we've mentioned the QixSys as our IoT platform. This is how XiQ eventually evolves toward SaaS and data management. Essentially, increasing the value of your investment through scalable software and data services.

More details are to come, but let's look at our successful tests on accessing wide-range and localized data points throughout a dense location such as Atlanta. The following represents remote access of data in key categories such as:

Clearly, the Stinger introduces a new level of activation, engagement and security. Stinger protection means more than just enhancing theft deterrence.  The Stinger can also help reduce insurance premiums on your valuable property. This is an especially big opportunity due to the various types of vehicles the Stinger can engage.

We're working with some insurance providers to explore pilot programs introducing lower premiums offered with Stinger enabled vehicles.  Another benefit of these "Stinger insurance plans" is savings can be high enough to eventually pay off the Stinger!

The insurance opportunity surfaced as a result of Stinger development for boats and other watercraft. Stay tuned for upcoming updates that will feature Stinger boat tests!  Until then, here's a peak at a test design rendering of a possible boat dashboard that is Stinger enabled. You'll notice how we're envisioning a Stinger without buttons so the boat is completely mobile engaged.

On Friday, April 20th, our CEO did a live radio interview on "The Tiffany Krumins Show" This show is supported by the "Business RadioX" network. Tiffany Krumins was one of the first big winners on "Shark Tank." 

This is the beginning of our strategy to build buzz through different media outlets. "Business RadioX" was an important interview since their extensive band band width encompasses quite a large reach. They've had OVER 13 MILLION DOWNLOADS in the 4th Quarter of 2017 alone! Before we get into the next update, we'd like to thank all of our investors for your support.  For our followers that have yet to jump in, hopefully this update will nudge you a bit. 

Usually, ongoing research and development is aimed at tackling highly technical product issues. With us, we try to also consider the seemingly simple and small issues that can be huge deal breakers with our customers. You'll see here, how we're conducting water-proofing tests with the Stinger. We've learned from our powersports dealers that, next to innovative functionality, water proof equipment matters most. Simply put, their end customer's recreational lifestyles demand it.

Oh, and yes, this is our move toward boats and watercraft too. But that's another update for another day. Help us see another day with your continued investment.
